Identity is often spoken of as something we receive — shaped by origin, defined by history, carried through time. But in Issue 07, Hudson Magazine challenges this idea and presents a different truth: identity is not inherited. It is constructed.
“IDENTITY” is a statement of authorship. A refusal to be limited by expectation, tradition, or imposed definition. It is about the conscious act of becoming — the decisions, the revisions, the moments of clarity where a person chooses who they are.
The cover reflects this shift. Strong, intentional, and self-defined. There is no reference to the past — only presence. The gaze is direct, the form is controlled, the message is clear: identity begins where choice begins.
The opening chapter explores the concept of inheritance. Subtle references to tradition, familiar silhouettes, and echoes of cultural codes appear — but they are not fixed. They are questioned. Reframed. Deconstructed. What was once accepted is now examined.
